ARCHITECTS NOW HAVE A DEDICATED SOURCE FOR CUSTOMIZING CONCRETE BLOCK
KINGSTON, NY AUGUST 2004 - The innovative team at Kingston Block and
Masonry Supply, LLC (KBMS) offers architects the ability to flex
their creativity using concrete masonry units. Although capable of
producing large quantities of standard concrete block, Kingston Block
and Masonry Supply has constructed a modern facility designed
specifically for creating custom concrete masonry units. The staff at
KBMS is a knowledge-based team assembled for their specific ability
to manufacture custom block in quantities a small as 100 block.
Projects can include a single custom wall or an entire custom block
building. Custom molds are made onsite by the talented staff.

Acampora said that Kingston Block and Masonry Supply will work with
architects to ensure that the end product is a collaborative effort.
"Architects should not limit themselves," he said. "
If they give us feedback we will try to accommodate them. The
architect will create the image and we will manufacture it from their
concept. There are unlimited opportunities for design and creativity.
We have come a long way from the 'cinder block' look. Blocks are not
meant to be painted or hidden anymore. They can be proudly displayed,
comparable to custom-cut stone. The whole process has evolved. We can
take a concrete masonry unit and make it look like a cut stone. We
transform the image of the concrete masonry unit in size, appearance,
and texture. It is then equivalent to a piece of limestone taken out
of a quarry. We are certainly not limiting ourselves to the
conventional concept of a concrete block."
Kingston Block and Masonry Supply's new state-of-the-art facility
features Italian-made machinery by one of the leading makers in Italy
of stone and masonry polishing equipment. The product line includes
the Kingston Groundface units which feature an upscale, elegantly
smooth appearance that can be manufactured and precision-ground to
specifications. The new Kingston Jewelstone contains recycled glass
and is the ideal choice for environmentally friendly projects. The
Kingston Decostone features creatively beveled edges and the upscale

"Something new we manufacture is a custom line of polished and
split concrete brick that can be used in any application that brick
can be used ," Acampora said. "We are one of the few
facilities in the region that can do that. We can also focus on
special shapes and colors regardless of the size of the project."
Kingston Block has the ability to manufacture blended colors,
multi-colored faces, split/ground units, and combinations of colors
into the masonry unit. "We have the ability to create any custom
color in concrete," Acampora said. He added that custom logos
can also be cut into the concrete units.
